13-Day China’s Old and New offers the best way to discover the past, the present and the future of China and Hong Kong. Climb the Great Wall of China, glimpse into the rich history of China in Xian, one of the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals, experience the modern lifestyle in the busy Shanghai, trek through stunning Li River to see the picturesque villages and mountains and discover a city where East meets West, Hong Kong. This tour will give you an overview of China’s Old and New.

Day 1 – Arr. Beijing (Thursday arrival)

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. Meet your experienced local guide and transfer to the hotel. Check in at your hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 2 – Beijing (B,L,D)

Full day visit the Temple of Heaven, an important site for the emperor worship, the largest square in the world – Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, where the last emperor resided. Enjoy a national dish, Peking Duck dinner as a welcome dinner.

Day 3 – Beijing (B,L)

Climb the Great Wall of China. The 4,000-mile long and 2,000 years old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible from the moon. Pass by 2008 Olympic Sites. Evening, enjoy dinner at your own leisure.

Day 4 – Beijing to Xi’an (B,L)

Morning, explore the Summer Palace, an ancient royal resort. Cruise on the Kunming Lake. Fly to Xian, an ancient capital of China.

Day 5 – Xi’an (B,L)

Enjoy a full day excursion to the Eighth Wonders of the World, Terra Cotta Warriors Museum and visit the City Wall, the best reserved ancient military system. You will have a special dumpling lunch today. Explore some unique snacks at the Muslim Quarter.

Day 6 – Xi’an to Shanghai (B)

Fly to Shanghai, also known as “Paris in the East.” Explore the past, present and future of Shanghai by walking along the Bund. Continue to Yu Garden with its largest outdoor bazaar . Learn about the silk weaving at the Silk weaving workshop. Chinese silk is one of the best souvenirs to bring home. Pass by the beautiful French concessions and the People square. Enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 7 – Shanghai (B)

Full day free at leisure or join an optional tour to Suzhou, “Venice of the East” and best known as the Garden City of China.

Day 8 – Shanghai to Guilin (B)

Fly to Guilin, a beautiful scenic city of China. Check in and relax at your hotel.

Day 9 – Guilin (B,L)

Full day Li River Cruise. Li River is also the soul of Guilin scenery. Along the beautiful Li River and explore the luscious Chinese countryside. Enjoy lunch on board. Arrive in Yangshuo and explore the famous West Street. West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. Over the last 20-some years, West Street has become a meeting place for eastern and western cultures, and the biggest ‘foreign language center’ in China. Return to Guilin.

Day 10 – Guilin to Hong Kong (B,L,D)

Fly to Hong Kong, the city never sleeps. Enjoy free time to explore Hong Kong or take an optional seafood dinner to taste the delicious fresh seafood.

Day 11 – Hong Kong

Half day Hong Kong Island tour, start with Hollywood Road, one of the first roads built in Hong Kong. You will hear some of the interesting stories of Hong Kong from your local guide while visiting the biggest dry food street in the world. You will see some fantastic dry seafood and Chinese herbs and learn about the health culture. Ride the tram to the top of the Victoria Peak to get a panoramic view of the Hong Kong. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. Don’t miss the largest lighting and music show in the world, A Symphony of Lights; the show perfectly shows the vibrancy and glamorous night view of Hong Kong.

Day 12 – Hong Kong

Full day free at leisure for shopping at the paradise or join an optional tour to Macau, “Vegas of the East”.

Day 13 – Fly to Home (B)

Depart to airport for flight to home.
